New Build Winner
Nominated by: Norwich Society
Region: East of England
Architect: Architype
Description:
The Enterprise Centre accommodates the University of East Anglia’s enterprise activities and alongside teaching, is a hub for entrepreneurs, innovators and businesses. It sets new sustainability standards for education buildings; it is said to be the most sustainable building in the UK and is the largest thatched building in Europe. The building oozes innovation, from the contemporary use of reed thatch in its elevations, to the natural materials in its interiors but most importantly, in its overall ethos, bringing together innovative business with the academic and student communities, to promote employability and entrepreneurship.
